The Life Signs that Clutter is Causing Problems
January 2nd, 2008 · Filed Under: Latest Updates
For some people it’s obvious to them that their clutter is causing them to function less effectively in their homes and lives, many others however just don’t realise that the tragic state of their home is the root cause of much of the emotional & other difficulties they are experiencing. So what are some of the symptoms that clutter and disorganisation are the cause of?
- Are you parking your very expensive car in the driveway or street because the garage is full?
- Do you have newspapers dating back more than a week filling up spaces?
- Are your closets or worse your laundry basket bursting with clothes but you struggle to find something to wear - so you go and buy something to solve the problem when just keeping the laundry up to date would reveal more clothes than you could wear in 6 months without using the same thing twice!?
- Is finding something ‘you just put down a minute ago’ a regular challenge?
- Do you prefer to take visitors directly to your outdoor area rather than into your lounge, or worse do you dislike surprise visitors or any visitors for that matter?
- Are you seriously irritated by relatives that make comments about the state of your home?
- Do you dislike going home, does it make you feel depressed frustrated or irritated? Have you even noticed that your mood changes negatively when you’re on your way home? If you’re a stay at home mum does your husband always seem to come home in a bad mood?
- Do you still possess loads of kids toys and your kids are now adults? Are there piles and boxes of toys that haven’t seen the light of day for years?
- Have you decided that your stay at home partner is just not the ‘home oriented’ type and that’s just the way it is?
- Has it been more than 12 months since you last did any work on that hobby consuming the garage or spare room?
- Has the cat gone missing and you were curious about a strange smell in the house a while back!!?
These are just some of the indicators that clutter can be the cause and symptom of. It really is a delusion to think that; living with lots of stuff you rarely use - but might come in handy some day, let alone knowing that some of it you’ll never use again, doesn’t effect your life negatively. Truly madly deeply I know I harp on about this - but hey it’s really so obvious when you are watching from the outside.
Let 2008 be the year you get your clutter clearing done once and for all, and make room for some great new important things to come into your life. It really is a simple process - not always easy - but not at all complicated. What’s more you could make some money with some of that clutter - now there’s an incentive!
