What Are your ‘Busy-Life’ Challenges?
September 15th, 2008 ·
Life is hectic! The world seems to be going faster, there’s more to do, more to read, more to see, more responsibilities and on and on….. arghhh!
Some of our overwhelm issues might seem unique to us but rarely is that so. But I’ve decided I’d like to re-investigate this subject because social changes are happening rather quickly as are the demands of business and professional folks as technology impacts how we function and interact.
Let me know what challenges you face on a daily and weekly basis in dealing with all of life ‘coming at you’, by commenting below. Really express yourself! Don’t hold back about how those pressures affect you emotionally + what industry you work in. It’ll feel good just to ‘let it out’ if nothing else!

Okay, you asked for it!
Greatest stress was due to my children. Both are doing poorly in at least one of their classes…and I am a teacher! My daughter is 13 and has the normal teenage angst…plus she is adopted and of a different ethnic heritage than us…so we add a bit to the angst. Money is tight….getting tighter. In the next 4 months I have 3 birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and I’m sure a whole slew of unexpected expenses. Of course a loaf of bread has doubled in price and both kids have hit a growth spurt and are constantly hungry. I’m thinking of getting a second job, but teaching doesn’t end at 3:30…so I’m not sure if a second job would help or hurt us. The cars are looking pretty old…not in looks but in function and we’re hoping they’ll hold out. Stuff is breaking, and the emergency fund is an emergency in itself.
At school, if kids fail, it’s the teacher’s fault. Parents and children don’t really shoulder the blame…we do. So we work even harder to help them, but since they don’t feel the responsibility it can be a little like pushing a rope. Still, I try to be the voice of hope in a world of teachers who sometimes have given up hope.
Yep, that’s about all that’s stressing me. How was your week?

Hi Donna,
WOW! Ya gave it to me alright! Unfortunately I not sure that your challenges are of the type that my organising skills could be of assistance. However I definitely relate to your money issue but I don’t have the worry of feeding hungry kids. Have you considered trying to implement the laws of attraction? I will admit that I am challenged by my own self defeating thoughts with regards to implementing it but it’s harmless and I’ve nothing to lose by trying. The best explanation I found recently (because the catch is finding good information about this strategy) is found at http://www.jackrabbitfactor.com (this is not an affiliate link btw) I LOVE this book! only found it last week. Read it in a couple of hours. Try it and tell me what you think.
Cheers
Suzy
PS - I sure you know how important teaching is and thus your role as an important person in society - I tip my hat to you and thank you for the great job you do.
Keep your chin up!
PPS My week has been cruisey compared to yours! Thanks for asking.
